Believing it, and determining to do his part in giving a right bent to those who are shaping others, he made the Life and Mission of Woman a matter of patient and profound investigation; and the result of this investigation we have before us. Few men, it is confidently affirmed, have penetrated deeper into the very heart of this great subject; and a more comprehensive, able and practical discussion of the subject will not be found.

A chief excellence of this treatise is its scripturalness. Dr. Monod interrogated the Bible as to the question of Woman's proper Mission and Life; and he found its light, here as elsewhere, clear and sufficient.
