It will be a distinct gain to have before the mind as definite an idea as possible of the extent and distribution of the material which comes under what we may call the prana-series, especially as only a small portion of it is to receive detailed treatment. To this end the following summary of such material as is found in the Vedas, Upanisads, important Brahmanas, and certain of the Sutras, has been prepared.
