This first volume ends with the death of Shiva p. The second volume will, if I am spared to continue the work, end with the coup d'etat of ad. 1750. The third volume will bring the narrative down to ad. 1818. It will also contain appendices, giving a short account of the Maratha States between 1818 and the present day.
