I N the multitude of stories based upon the cam paigns and battles of the American Revolution, other phases of that immortal struggle for indepen dence have been somewhat overlooked. No one of these Revolutionary episodes possessed more in terest, or had a more direct effect upon the fortunes of the great strife, at its very beginning, than did that dastardly conspiracy against the patriot army at New York and the life of Washington, known as the Hickey plot.
