IN these sketches of some ancient gloucestershire and warwickshire homes I have purposely omitted such as are already familiar, and introduced the reader to a few of the many old houses which, although lying within sound of the railway whistle, and possess ing no small amount of historic and personal interest, are still practically but little known.
