With ROMA CANES MUNDI, the journey into the past begun with ORIGINS IN SEARCH OF ANCIENT DOG BREEDS resumes, and while the first volume dealt with the dogs present between the late Paleolithic and the period when the ancient Greeks lived, the second volume is entirely dedicated to the period when ROME was born, grew, expanded, conquered much of Europe and the territories bordering the Mediterranean, and finally fell.<br />What were the dogs of the Romans like? What kind of relationship was there between them and their four-legged companions?<br />All this will be examined through literary, historical, and artistic sources with the help of zooarchaeological findings and genetic analysis.
