The Position of Semasiology in Relation to Linguistics and Psychology. Semasiology is the study of linguistic meanings. The term meanings is here taken as denoting certain elements of the mental events occurring in connection with words in the minds of people think ing, speaking, writing, hearing or reading the words. The study of meanings, as of all psychic phenomena, belongs to psychology.
