Branding for companies that provide services to other companies (Business to Customer). The reason is simple: B2C brands are more well-known than B2B brands because B2C brands are more exclusive and particular. Even if you work in B2B, you may not be aware of B2B brands in other industries. However, I continue to utilize well-known B2B brands. Some of those companies became so well-known that when I informed them they were B2B businesses, they were taken aback.
Intel is a good example of a B2B company. This is the real deal. To whom does Intel sell its goods? They make money by selling to other businesses. Intel sells its goods to a number of computer makers rather than directly to consumers. FedEx is a B2B company as well. Many people's eyes opened in amazement once more. Who makes use of FedEx's services? Consumers or businesses? The majority of them are enterprises. Is it possible that the last time you used FedEx was to send a personal box or to send something for work? Similarly, Hyflux is a B2B brand, but it is so well-known that I still use it to illustrate branding concepts when necessary. Caterpillar is a true B2B brand that sells construction equipment to other businesses, but I've used it to demonstrate several important points since it's so well-known.
A mix of B2B and B2C brands are utilized to demonstrate naming ideas throughout the book. Because most people don't catch many B2B situations, I utilize numerous B2C brands to explain concepts of branding, distinction, and even how naming convention, even if I specialize in B2B branding. For example, if you're a B2B firm that makes windshields for vehicle manufacturers, you're already in the industry, but you may not be aware of other B2B companies since you don't interact or utilize their products and services.
