The Soul of Nicholas Snyders, or, The Miser of Zandam departs from Jerome K. Jerome's usual humorous style and delves into the supernatural. The plot is cleverly constructed, so that the reader may choose to believe the events were not attributable to the supernatural, but rather to matters of conscience. A gripping short story, almost in the Conan Doyle vein. Ricardo Silverburn, children's author
