Bacteriologists contend that microbes are the sole origin of disease, whereas the truth is that disease is primarily caused by the accumula tion of filth, or dead organic matter, in the tissues of the body, that can only be removed by agents consisting of an application of the forces of nature from without, or by nature herself, by the calling into being micro-organisms, or microbes, that are the product of fermentation, and are the indispensable agents that convert all manurial matter into the saline constituents that are essential for the nutrition of vegetable life.
