IN a stately theatre of woods and waters in my country, at a proper bucolical distance from the sound ing of the sea, there stands a summer house, to which two or three years ago as the lustre of the season was mounting to its noon, came a lady and her son to re tire awhile from the gilded artificialities of city life.
