IN the united states there are at present about a hundred thousand women who have consecrated their lives to religion as Sisters. That is a considerable army, the Red Cross of Christ. Every year thousands of young ladies enroll themselves under the standard of the religious life. Many people must, therefore, be interested in the sort of life to which the Sister dedi cates herself. The present volume aims at putting the religious vocation before the public.
