My Library series presents Raffi&rsquo;s historical novel Samvel. Each book from <i>My Library</i> series represents one of classical Armenian writers or poets&rsquo; best works. The series is intended for schoolchildren, students, adult readers and generally all those who are interested in Armenian literature.<br />The novel tells about the complex political events taking place in the second half of the 4th c., when the Armenian people, in between Persia and Byzantium, was struggling for its ethnic identity and country&#39;s independence. Aside from political disturbances, the novel describes the life of Armenians, their values, customs, intellectual and moral qualities, perhaps a little bit exaggerated at times.
