It has been thought well, then, to leave the earlier chapters, one to nine included, just as they were written by the author, and to add such topics as have called for a solution during the past two decades. With these new subjects analyzed and explained, and with the aid of the bibliography herein submitted, the book should meet the demands and solve the principal prob lems of physicians and medical students of the present day.
