One beautiful January morning, with the blue expanse of the Bay of Naples shimmering under our windows in the sunlight, I received a letter which changed all our plans for the year. It was to ask me to undertake the Biography, now placed before the public, of my cousin Arthur Mac Murrough Kavanagh.
