The collections from the notes, as well as the notes themselves, were written in Latin, the dis eases being arranged alphabetically: and this is the reason that the titles are here in that language. In making the extracts, it was not only more easy to follow the order in which the observations had been ranged, but there was likewise less danger 0 any confusion or omissmn; and little or no incon venience can arise from preserving the Latin names of the distempers. An useful addition might have been made to these papers by comparing them with the current doctrine of diseases and remedies, as also with what is laid down in practical writers, and with the accounts of those who treat of the dissections ot morbid bodies; but at my advanced ageit would be to no purpose to'think of such an undertaking.
