It is my sincere wish that after several generations have passed there will be enough interest on the part of one or several persons in the Gehman family to bring this record up to date. It will only then become apparent what a great service has been rendered by Mrs. Gehman in making these early sources a matter of record. Many of them will be more valuable from year to year in proportion as they would be hard to find after time has scattered records and memories are gone.
