Hudson Taylor and the China Inland Mission: The Growth of a Work of God. E-book. Formato PDF Mrs. Howard Taylor - Forgotten Books, 2017 -
Surely never was man better fitted for his work than he for the difficult undertaking of founding and conducting a great interdenominational and international mission in million-peopled China. The China Inland Mission was con ceived in his soul, and every stage of its advance sprung from his personal exertions. In the quiet of his heart, in deep unutterable communings with God, the mission had its origin, and it remains his memorial. On that noble monument, not of perishable marble, and in characters not of man's inditing, his name is written. His dust sleeps now in China. Silence has fallen on the lips which long pleaded China's cause, but the effects of the plea remain in the con version of thousands called out of heathen darkness Into God's marvellous light, and the existence of a mission whose present in?uence and future growth are beyond our powers to estimate. To God be all the glory.
Hudson Taylor in Early Years: The Growth of a Soul. E-book. Formato PDF Mrs. Howard Taylor - Forgotten Books, 2017 -
This book makes no claim to being anything but a true and grateful record of the Lord's dealings with our dear father in his early years. It is not fiction, though the form in which it has come to us is unusual, perhaps, for a biography. It is the faithful story of the growth of a soul in the know ledge and love of God. Drawn mainly from Mr. Taylor's own letters and recollections, which are freely quoted, it has been pondered and prayed over until it seems to have lived again in our hearts. Many a time as it has grown to completion, in spite of hindrances from without and within that only the power of God has overcome, we have felt profoundly that the place whereon we stood was holy ground. Most gratefully do we thank all who have waited so patiently for this book, and to whose help in prayer we know it is largely due that it appears at length. May they find in its pages some fragrance of the life they loved, because it brought them nearer to God, and strengthened them in seeking to live for His glory and the good of many.
Pastor Hsi (of North China): One of China's Christians; With Portraits and Illustrations. E-book. Formato PDF Mrs. Howard Taylor - Forgotten Books, 2017 -
IN the — various places in which this book has grown to completion, I have been repeatedly asked how it has been possible to collect so much material about the life of a Chinaman who never left his own country. The question brings up many memories straightway one lives again some of the most sacred of life's experiences and the heart warms at the recollection of all that has contributed to the work now finished.
