Alternating-Current Electricity and Its Applications to Industry First Course. E-book. Formato PDF William Henry Timbie - Forgotten Books, 2017 -
Tms book is planned to meet the need for an elementary text on alternating-current electricity, simple enough to be readily understood by beginners, and, at the same time, complete enough to be a proper foundation for engineering practice or for later advanced study. The authors have tried to present a thorough treatment of the general principles, everywhere closely associating the principles with the machines, the methods and the facts of everyday practice. It is believed that information thus arranged becomes immediately usable, and that, in ad dition, the student receives the suggestion and incentive for further study on his own initiative. Throughout the text, the steps by which new ideas are introduced have been made small. The increased speed and certainty with which the students advance under this plan has been found, on care ful trial, to more than compensate for the longer text made necessary.
Principles of Electrical Engineering. E-book. Formato PDF William H. Timbie - Forgotten Books, 2017 -
This text is the outgrowth of experience in teaching the principles of electrical engineering to students Of electrical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. It aims to provide a substantial first course in the subject by presenting rigorously, and at the same time in under standable form, the really basic principles upon which modern electrical engineering rests. In furtherance of this purpose many problems and examples from current engineer ing practice are introduced. The book is not, however, to be mistaken for a complete condensed treatise on the entire subject. It is strictly a first course on the principles, and its study Should be followed by detailed courses in direct-current and alternating-current machinery. Where ever applications of the principles are introduced, they are for the purpose of illustrating these principles and render ing them real and alive to the student.
