In ogni capitolo è riportata una breve teoria esplicativa di quanto è stato sviluppato nei singoli fogli di calcolo. I principali argomenti sono: l'impiego della teoria di Rankine e di Coulomb per la determinazione delle pressioni esercitate dai terreni sulle strutture, in condizioni sia statiche sia sismiche, la soluzione di Lancellotta per la determinazione del coefficiente di spinta passiva, il dimensionamento e le relative verifiche delle opere di sostegno sia rigide sia flessibili, le analisi di stabilità dei pendii sia in terreni sia in roccia, la progettazione delle gallerie e delle opere in sotterraneo, con particolare riferimento al metodo delle curve caratteristiche e ai metodi più diffusi in letteratura per quanto concerne la verifica della stabilità del fronte di scavo.
The work, consisting of three volumes, deals with geotechnical and seismic design also providing a collection of Excel spreadsheets. In this third volume all the fundamental aspects related to the determination of the thrust of the earth, the sizing of the support works and anchors, the stability of the slopes in soils and rock masses, the analysis and design of tunnels and underground works are addressed. Each chapter contains a brief explanatory theory of what has been developed in the individual spreadsheets. The main topics are: the use of Rankine and Coulomb theory for the determination of the pressures exerted by the soils on the structures, in both static and seismic conditions, the Lancellotta solution for the determination of the passive thrust coefficient, the sizing and related verifications of both rigid and flexible support works, the stability analysis of slopes both in soils and in rock, the design of tunnels and underground works, with particular reference to the method of characteristic curves and to the most widespread methods in the literature as regards the verification of the stability of the excavation front.
