Das siebenköpfige Team, bestehend aus einem Franzosen, vier Briten und zwei Schweizern, gewann den Wettlauf und schlug die Italiener. Auf dem Rückweg kam es zum Unglück: Vier der Männer stürzten in die Tiefe. War es ein Unfall? Mord? Oder riss das Seil gar nicht wie anfangs vermutet, sondern wurde zerschnitten? Diesen Fragen sollen in dieser kleinen Gedenkschrift zum 155-jährigen Jubiläum der Erstbesteigung auf den Grund gegangen werden. Dazu wird die Geschichte aufgerollt und verschiedene Ansichten um das mysteriöse Seil dargestellt.
