In addition to this major venous absorption through arachnoid villi directly into the great dural sinuses, an accessory drainage by way of the lymphatic system was demonstrated. This seemed a much slower, less efficient means of absorption of the ?uid, caring for but a small fraction of the total. Such lymphatic absorption was wholly indirect; the ?uid reached the true lymphatic vessel only outside of the dura and then by way of perineural Spaces.
