Arte e storia di Milano. Le chiese della periferia milanese: Il quarto numero dei Quaderni Ambrosiani completa il precedente studio "Arte e storia nelle chiese della periferia milanese", collocandolo in una prospettiva nuova, anche se complementare. Infatti i nostri autori, se prima si erano soffermati su alcuni interessanti aspetti delle chiese mariane nella periferia milanese, con questa ricerca estendono il loro impegno a tutte quelle chiese della stessa periferia, che meritano attenzione per alcune loro peculiarità storiche ed artistiche. Ancora ricordiamo che quando si parla di periferia milanese occorre tenere presenti due circostanze: l'una topografica e l'altra temporale. Prima di tutto la topografica, che si riferisce unicamente all'area al di fuori della cerchia dei bastioni spagnoli, rientrante però nell'odierna delimitazione del comune di Milano; poi quella temporale, essendo state prese in esame unicamente quelle chiese, la cui origine è databile dall'antichità al XIX secolo. Si tratta comunque di monografie, che entrano nella motivazione dei nostri Quaderni Ambrosiani: "proporre argomenti non ancora o non sufficientemente messi in luce circa l'arte e la storia di Milano, ma che meritano studio, impegno d'indagine e conoscenza".
The fourth edition of Ambrosian Books completes the previous study "art and history in the churches of the milanese suburbs", by placing it in a new perspective, although complementary. In fact our authors, if before we were focused on a few interesting aspects of Marian churches on the outskirts of Milan, with this research extend their commitment to all the churches in the same suburb, that deserve attention for their historic and artistic peculiarities. We still remember that when we speak of the milanese suburbs should consider two conditions: a topographic map and another storm. First and foremost the topographical map, which refers only to the area outside the circle of ramparts Spaniards, falling though in today's demarcation of the city of Milan; then the temporal, having been examined only those churches, whose origin dates from antiquity to the 19th century. These are monographs, entering the motivation of our Notebooks Ambrosian chants: "proposing topics not yet or not sufficiently brought to light about the art and history of Milan, but they deserve study, investigative commitment and knowledge."
