Scenari di un sistema integrato e sostenibile: Il volume è dedicato all'analisi delle peculiarità e delle potenzialità dell'industria del legno in Italia, intesa come uno dei pochi attori in grado di integrare il sistema industriale con quello energetico e ambientale. Nell'ultimo decennio, con l'intensificarsi del fenomeno della globalizzazione, hanno infatti assunto una crescente importanza le sfide legate alle materie prime, all'energia e all'ambiente. Tali sfide, se da un lato hanno valenza globale, e interessano l'economia complessiva di un Paese, dall'altro rivestono cruciale importanza per la competitivita dell'industria del legno, in un'ottica oramai condivisa di sviluppo sostenibile. All'interno di un quadro complesso di relazioni tra settori, interni ed esterni al sistema, e considerando gli aspetti economici, tecnologici e ambientali collegati alle straordinarie caratteristiche del legno come materia prima, la scelta adottata è quella di sviluppare l'analisi in ottica di filiera nel senso più ampio del termine: Bosco-Legno-Arredamento. L'analisi del sistema forestale italiano si rende infatti necessaria, date le evidenti connessioni con il reperimento della materia prima indispensabile per l'attività produttiva dell'industria in esame. The volume is dedicated to the analysis of the characteristics and potential of the timber industry in Italy, considered as one of the few actors capable of integrating the industrial system with that energy and the environment. Over the past decade, with the intensification of the phenomenon of globalization, have become increasingly important challenges related to raw materials, energy and environment. These challenges, although their overall value, and affects the overall economy of a country, on the other hand are of crucial importance for the competitiveness of wood industry sustainable development, with a view shared by now. Within a complex framework of relations between sectors, inside and outside the system, and considering economic, technological and environmental aspects linked to the extraordinary characteristics of the wood as raw material, the choice is to develop the analysis from the perspective of supply chain in the broadest sense of the word: the forest-Wood-furniture. Italian forest system analysis becomes necessary, given the obvious connections with the procurement of essential raw material for the production of the industry concerned.
