La scena del re. Il Teatro di corte del Palazzo Reale di Napoli. Con DVD: Il restauro del Teatro di Corte, già concluso nel 2010, ha restituito alla città di Napoli una preziosa testimonianza della propria plurisecolare cultura artistica e musicale, sottolineando il legame indissolubile tra l'esercizio della tutela e l'attività di valorizzazione dei Beni Culturali. Per la prima volta dopo gli anni del Secondo dopoguerra è stato affrontato un progetto organico con interventi sulla parte architettonica, sulle pertinenze decorative e sulla torre scenica, per restituire al prestigioso spazio il proprio volto e le proprie funzioni. Ma il complesso lavoro ha rappresentato anche l'occasione per rileggere e riordinare le fonti documentarie, bibliografiche e fotografiche sul Teatro di Corte a oggi note, integrandole con nuovi ritrovamenti, per aggiornarne la complessa vicenda sia riguardo al progressivo adeguamento della Gran Sala alle funzioni di struttura teatrale stabile, sia riguardo ai restauri antichi e moderni, sia riguardo alla sua variegata storia performativa. Il volume si articola in due sezioni: la prima ripercorre, come in un "giornale di cantiere", le varie fasi del restauro e le soluzioni adottate, che i manufatti stessi andavano suggerendo, una volta liberati dai segni del tempo e comparati alle notizie delle fonti; la seconda rilegge, attraverso i contributi degli studiosi della storia della musica e dello spettacolo, il ruolo del Teatro di Corte nella tradizione spettacolare napoletana dal Seicento a oggi.
The restoration of the Court Theatre, already completed in 2010, has returned to the city of Naples a precious witness of their centuries-old artistic and musical culture, underlining the indissoluble link between the exercise of the protection and promotion of cultural heritage. For the first time since the years after World War II has been dealt an organic project with work on the architectural, decorative and scenic Tower on appliances, to return to the prestigious space their faces and their functions. But the complex work was also the occasion to reread and reorder the bibliographic and photographic, documentary sources on the Court Theatre today notes, integrating them with new finds, to update its complex history both with respect to the progressive adaptation of the great Hall Theater structure functions, both with respect to the restoration of ancient and modern, both with respect to its varied history. The volume is divided into two sections: the first traces, like in a "worksite journal", the various stages of the restoration and the solutions adopted, that the artifacts themselves were suggesting, once freed from the ravages of time and compared to news sources; the second reads, through the contributions of scholars of the history of music and entertainment, the role of the Court Theatre in the spectacular 17th century Neapolitan tradition today.
