This volume presents a brief excursion in understanding the Golden number, its properties and its diverse manifestations in particular geometric objects whose names mostly inherit the adjective aureus (Golden spiral, golden lace) and natural phenomena such as the arrangement of seeds in some flowers. Relief is given also to events of phi in artistic creations and some interesting aspects related to the relationships between mathematics and art.
