Love, Cecil tells the story of Oscar winner Cecil Beaton, creator of dresses for such films as Gigi (1958) and My Fair Lady (1964). Not only costume designer, Beaton was also a photographer, diarist and theatrical designer. An artist in all respects who has enclosed in himself the social and artistic upheavals of the twentieth century. Nearly forty years after his death, in fact, no aesthete has ever come so close to his art that he could be compared to the great Beaton. From the "young and bright things" of 1920s London to the alliance with publisher Condé Nast that opened its doors to fashion photography and celebrities, Vreeland showcases Beaton's art with extreme generosity and wisdom.
