Salvezza mediata. Martin Lutero e i sacramenti: Per tanto tempo, sia da parte cattolica che da parte evangelica, si è ritenuto che Martin Lutero avesse eliminato i sacramenti come mezzi efficaci di salvezza. Da circa cinquant'anni, però, il dialogo luterano-cattolico ha evidenziato che il «solo per grazia, nella fede nell'azione salvifica di Gesù Cristo» non va compreso come esclusione dei sacramenti della chiesa, ma come una totalità, fondata sulla Scrittura, costituita da giustificazione, fede, sacramenti e ministero. Cattolici e luterani hanno così imparato, insieme, a superare i pregiudizi tramandati e le controversie che ne sono derivate. Oggi, insieme, possono imparare a comprendere - in una rilettura ecumenica - le richieste della teologia di Lutero. I contributi qui raccolti si basano sulle relazioni tenute durante un convegno internazionale svoltosi a Roma e organizzato dalla Pontificia Università Gregoriana, dal Pontificio Consiglio per la promozione dell'unità dei cristiani e dal Johann-Adam-Möhler-Institut, in occasione della commemorazione dei cinquecento anni dall'inizio della Riforma.
For a long time, both on the Catholic and evangelical sides, it was felt that Martin Luther had eliminated the sacraments as effective means of salvation. For about fifty years, however, the Lutheran-Catholic dialogue has shown that "only by grace, in faith in the saving action of Jesus Christ" should not be understood as an exclusion of the sacraments of the church, but as a totality, founded on Scripture, constituted justification, faith, sacraments and ministry. Catholics and Lutherans have thus learned, together, to overcome the prejudices handed down and the controversies that ensued. Today, together, they can learn to understand - in an ecumenical rereading - the demands of Luther's theology. The contributions collected here are based on the reports held during an international conference held in Rome and organized by the Pontifical Gregorian University, the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of Christian Unity and the Johann-Adam-Méhler-Institut, on the occasion of the commemoration of the 500th anniversary of the beginning of the Reformation.
