Rallies. Ediz. italiana e inglese: "Cosa sono per me i rally? Sono oltre quarant'anni di vita in giro per il mondo, quarant'anni di gioie, dolori, emozioni, contatti umani ma soprattutto sono un lungo lasso di tempo passato alla costante ricerca dello 'scatto giusto', quello con cui il giornale doveva aprire il servizio o illustrare la doppia pagina centrale. Proprio a quell'immagine è sempre toccato il difficile compito di catapultare immediatamente il lettore in Kenya fra le sue sabbie e i suoi cieli sconfinati, in mezzo ai ghiacci della Svezia o ancora fra le umide foreste inglesi. Da sempre questo è stato l'oggetto principale della ricerca: far vivere attraverso le mie immagini l'atmosfera di un luogo, il pathos di un momento, e l'emozione di esser li, tutto racchiuso in uno scatto. Anche per questo l'auto da rally non è mai la protagonista principale delle mie immagini ma è piuttosto uno dei vari elementi che compongono questi 'paesaggi rallistici' fatti di gente, villaggi, boschi, montagne o mare che sia, indiscussi protagonisti al pari di macchine e piloti". Queste le parole del fotografo Manrico Martella che in questo libro ripercorre, attraverso il suo obiettivo, l'intera storia del rallismo mondiale dai primi anni Settanta ad oggi. Le auto più belle e gloriose così come i campioni più affermati non sono sfuggiti all'occhio di questo artista della fotografia. I testi sono a firma di Emanuele Sanfront, giornalista sportivo e pilota e navigatore negli anni Sessanta e Settanta.
