Ediz. italiana e inglese: Il quaderno è il primo di una serie che accompagna la realizzazione del progetto "Art in the city", promosso dall'Associazione dei Commercianti del Centro Commerciale di Cinecittàdue a Roma. Il progetto "Art in the city" si propone di analizzare il rapporto tra gli artisti italiani delle ultime generazioni e il contesto urbano, attraverso la realizzazione di progetti concepiti espressamente per il quartiere di Cinecittà, connotato dalla presenza della città del cinema e dal centro commerciale Cinecittàdue di Roma, l'unico in Italia che possiede al suo interno uno spazio espositivo espressamente dedicato all'arte contemporanea. Botto & Bruno hanno lavorato sul rapporto tra lo spazio espositivo e il contesto urbano che lo circonda. La loro installazione capovolge il rapporto tra interno ed esterno, trasformando lo spazio in una sorta di osservatorio aperto sulla periferia e sulle sue contraddizioni, vissuta dai giovani come un territorio alternativo, vitale e alienante allo stesso tempo.
The book is the first in a series that accompanies the project "Art in the city", sponsored by the Association of merchants of the Cinecitt??due in Rome. The project "Art in the city" aims at analysing the relationship between the Italian artists of the last generation and the urban environment, through the implementation of projects designed expressly for the neighborhood of Cinecitta, characterized by the presence of the city of cinema and shopping centre Cinecitt??due in Rome, the only one in Italy that has within it an exhibition space dedicated to contemporary art. Bang & Bruno worked on the relationship between the exhibition space and the urban context that surrounds it. Their installation tips the relationship between interior and exterior, transforming the space into a kind of Observatory opened on the periphery and its contradictions, as experienced by young people as an alternative, viable and alienating territory at the same time.
