La Vita di Gesù avrebbe dovuto dividersi in tre parti, corrispondenti alla triadicità del metodo filosofico hegeliano (tesi, antitesi, sintesi). La tesi avrebbe dovuto esser costituita dal corpus dogmatico della religione cristiana protestante; l'antitesi dalla negazione critica dell'ortodossia e dalla dimostrazione della non attendibilità storica dei Vangeli ("germe negativo del sapere"); la sintesi, negazione della negazione, avrebbe dovuto reinterpretare la religione cristiana come "rappresentazione" della verità filosofica, sottraendo il Cristo alla storia per restituirlo al mito. Dell'architettura originaria furono scritte solo la seconda e la terza parte. In questa edizione si propongono al lettore gli ultimi capitoli del "momento negativo", quelli relativi alla Passione e l'importantissima dissertazione finale.

The heart of Christianity explained and reconciled with our reason, Hegelian philosophy applied concretely to revelation. An essay that, emotion after emotion, aspires to the great challenge: to combine religion and science and respond once and for all to fears and ancient questions and always up to date. The life of Jesus would have to be divided into three parts, corresponding to the triadicit?? of the Hegelian philosophical method (thesis, antithesis, synthesis). The thesis should be constituted by the dogmatic Protestant Christian religion corpus; the antithesis from critical negation of orthodoxy and demonstration of the Gospel's historical trust ("negative germ of knowledge"); the synthesis, the negation of the negation, would have to reinterpret the Christian religion as "representation" of philosophical truth, by subtracting the Christ in history to return it to the myth. The original architecture was written only the second and third parts. In this edition we offer the reader the latest chapters of "negative moment", those relating to the passion and the all-important final dissertation.
